By paying the deposit you are agreeing to be subject to these Terms & Conditions.
Michelle THE CAKECHEF may at any time, at it`s sole discretion, amend, vary or modify these terms & conditions without notice. Please read the terms & conditions carefully before placing your order with Michelle THE CAKECHEF.
By using Michelle THE CAKECHEF service, you agree to be bound by these terms & conditions. We reserve the right to refuse the sale of goods or services or to cancel an order under certain circumstances.
Please be aware that all photographs taken of your cake, prior to pick up/ delivery, & at the time of delivery, remain the property of Michelle THE CAKECHEF & will be used as necessary. We agree to not publish photos of your cake before your function has taken place.
Deposit information
A 30% deposit is required to make a booking. You are not booked in until the deposit is paid. Your 30% deposit is non-refundable & non transferable.
Balance due
Balance is due 2 weeks prior to your function. No order will be made till that balance is paid.
Confirmation of order/order form
You will need to fill out the information form. Please ensure all contact details, personal information, spelling of names, delivery/ pick up dates & times are correct.
Cancellations
If you cancel your order, after the 30% deposit is paid, your 30% deposit will NOT be refunded.
If you cancel within 2 weeks of your function, no refund will be given & FULL payment will be kept.
Force Majeure
In the event of a force majeure, e.g. natural disaster, pandemic, or government ban or restriction beyond our and your control and we are unable to proceed with your cake order on your original date as planned, we will transfer your booking to a new date ( subject to availability) with no postponement fee.
A nominal administration fee may apply if notice is less that 14 days from the booked event or if you are transferring for a second time.
Please note if you opt to cancel your package at any time, our usual cancellation policies will still apply
Changes
Any changes made to your order within 14 days of delivery/ pick up may incur a surcharge, depending on the change.
Quality
At Michelle THE CAKECHEF we pride ourselves on the quality of product & service. All our ingredients are the highest quality. Cakes may contain nuts or traces of nuts or nut oil. Gluten Free & Dairy free can be ordered, but cakes are made in a kitchen which does use gluten & dairy. All care will be taken by Michelle THE CAKECHEF, however we cannot be responsible for how the function centre cuts & handles your special dietary requirement cake. It is important to remember that cakes are a delicate & perishable product.
Storage & pick up
Fondant cakes are not meant to be refrigerated prior to your event. Doing so may result in colours running, condensation on your cake & decorations wilting. Fondant cakes must be kept in a cool air conditioned room. Do not place cakes in direct sunlight, outside on a table or in a marquee. Your cake may melt! If picking up a cake you must transport it flat, not on a car seat. The boot or floor space of front passenger seat is best. On a non slip mat. Once the cake has been picked up Michelle THE CAKECHEF is not responsible for any damage that may occur. Any leftover cake should be refrigerated for 3 days after your function.
For wedding cakes, the cake will be delivered at the time you agree with the function centre, if the cake table is not ready the cake will be left for the function centre to move. If the function centre staff damage the cake Michelle THE CAKECHEF is not responsible. We do NOT recommend freezing mud cake for 12 months. Leftover should be refrigerated for 3 days.
Variations
In some cases it may be necessary to vary a colour slightly or change a product slightly, as it may be unavailable for some reason. Michelle THE CAKECHEF reserves the right to vary from a pictured design as each decorator has their own unique style & way of doing things. If satin ribbon needs t be matched to bridesmaid dresses I will do my best to provide this or you can provide the ribbon yourself. If colour matching is needed, you will need to provide a colour swatch. Any icing figures or wired sugar flowers are decoration only & not recommended for consumption. They may contain wires or toothpick. Icing on the board is also not recommended to be eaten. To keep decorations, store in an airtight container with moisture sachets, out of sunlight. If damage occurs when removing figures/ decorations from the cake, they will not be replaced.
Refunds
As each cake is unique, so too, are your special requirements & concerns surrounding your order. If there is an issue, please note you must refrigerate or freeze the remainder of the cake immediately & return it to us on the next business day, if we are to consider any refund at all.
Disclosure of information
Michelle THE CAKECHEF will not disclose any of your personal information to anyone outside the company, unless authorized to do so or unless required by law to do so. Furthermore, under no circumstances will Michelle THE CAKECHEF sell or receive payment or services for disclosing customers personal information to any partner or external company.
